Service Description

In this workshop we will focus on using plaster to create texture. This is a fun, messy and experimental workshop suitable for beginners or those who have made collagraph prints before, and would like to explore working with plaster and varnish. In the first session we will create the printing plate. Plaster will be added to the plate where it can then be scratched into and manipulated. We will experiment with pushing textured items into the plaster to leave marks as it dries, as well as adding materials to create texture. We will also explore working with glue and varnish and the different effects we can create using these. In the second session we will print from these collagraph plates on to paper using the printing press. We’ll explore different ways of inking up and adding colour to the prints.
