Across four mornings we will learn how to create a 3-colour woodcut print. Woodcut printmaking is a relief printmaking technique similar to linocut. We’ll explore design, colour palettes and how to layer colours to create further colours. We will learn how to cut into plywood using woodcutting tools to create our three blocks, which will be layered to form a 3-colour print. Over the four weeks we’ll explore different methods for printing on to paper including hand burnishing and using the relief press. All materials are included in the price.
